The forum aims at exploiting growth points of mechanical engineering discipline, strengthening innovative consciousness, cultivating innovative ability and promoting the development of scientific and research work in department of mechanical engineering through communication and discussion. The forum has 4 parallel sessions, including Mechanical Design and Theory, Manufacturing Engineering and Automation, Materials and Forming Process and English Sub-forum. After two rounds of evaluation, 174 reports were reviewed and selected, reaching the largest scale in history.

On the morning of June 1st and 2nd, in each sub-forum, the teachers and students had a full communication and discussion on the research and newest developments in the field of mechanical engineering. 73 doctoral students made excellent academic reports.

Inthe afternoon of June 2nd, all the teachers and students who attended the Forum gathered together and watched the short film about academic integrity by the League Committee of the University and the Graduate Student Unionof the University. Related issues about academic morality were discussed and the students realized the importance of academic integrity and it was the basic rule that every graduate school should obey. They also expressed the determination to maintain academic morals and to be a dependable and prudentscientific research worker.

Next, the special researcher Lijinjin of the State Key Labof Tribology made an invitated report for the students entitled "Design, Mechanism and Application of Liquid Super Lubrication". Starting from the concept and significance of superlubrication, Li Jinjin explained the latest research progress in the field of liquid superlubrication in recent years, expounded the law and mechanism of superlubrication, and prospected the applications of superlubrication in the future. Subsequently, Professor Long Weimin, Director of the State Key Lab of New Brazing Materials and Technology, made a report on the topic of "Innovation and Development of Flux Core Brazing Material–the Responsibility of Tsinghua University about Green Environment Development". Professor Long put forwardthe idea of Flux Core Brazing Materialduring his master's degree , which has developed into the leading innovative products in the world today. He took this as an example and encouraged the students to keep their ambitious contribute to the development of China's manufacturing industry.

At 3:00 p.m. on June 2nd , the closing ceremony of the 568thDoctoral Research Forum of Tsinghua University was held. Professor Wang Jiadao, Chairman of the Department of Mechanical Engineering, and Professor Zhang Jianfu, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the Department, attended this ceremony together with other teachers and students from various institutes.
